Because of their shorter production history, condition is a bigger factor in determining the value of Millers Falls planes than is the case with Stanley or Sargent products.
Note: Repainted planes have functional value but are not collectible.

Condition

For purposes of this Bench Plane Chart, good+ to fine condition means: No hanging holes. No cracked castings. No cracked totes or chips out of the wooden parts. (Hairline in front knob is ok.) Proper cutter; other parts original. Virtually no pitting. Finishes are at least 85% intact. Planes with their original boxes can bring higher prices. Repainted tools cannot rate above 'good.'

Pre-1880 production and some hard-to-find models: Collectors are more forgiving of minor cracks, checking and pitting. In general, these can be identified by the 'good to good+' note in the condition column.
