• Description: Interior view of nickel plating area of Millers Falls Company factory in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Deposits on floor, walls and fixtures are green nickel oxide. Waste was dumped in a ditch and eventually found its way to the Green River. Company president James M. Mitchell shut down the plating operation.
