93 Reade Street, New York
Drawing of facade
- Description: Illustration of a store front from Daniel Badger's 1865 catalog. Save for the arches over first floor windows, the facade is virtually identical to that of 93 Reade Street. As iron facades were constructed of individual pre-cast pieces, the carefully measured and proportioned components were designed to be assembled in scores of ways to produce a large number of designs. Despite the almost endless possibilities, there were designs that tended to be replicated.
